Infant’s Mobile

Old-growth maple, red oak, spalted maple, honey locust, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Scratch-built and designed to be disassembled for shipping overseas, this mobile features six reversible maple and aluminum “blobs” that hang from red oak arms bisecting a spalted maple hub. Split by aluminum each blob features a black or white side and a colored side. Black/white or colored sides can be oriented towards the infant as their eyes develop from learning pattern recognition to discerning color over time.
